Welcome to Our Autism Village Forum 🩷

Hello and welcome! I’m Helen, the creator of Our Autism Village — a calm, inclusive space for autistic people, parents, and educators. This forum is a gentle place to connect, share, ask questions, and access resources without pressure or judgment. As a long-time autism mom and special education teacher, I understand how overwhelming the “noise” can be. I created this space so you don’t have to navigate the acronyms, the paperwork, or the emotional weight of autism and advocacy alone. Whether you’re here to find a specific resource or just a neighbor who truly gets it, I’m so glad you’ve found your way to our Village.

Guidelines for a Respectful Community

  1. 1.

Be kind and patient. Everyone has different autism experience and unique support needs.

  2. 2.

Respect boundaries. Not everyone wants long discussion — short posts are fine.

  3. 3.

No spam or promotions. This is a safe space, not an advertising zone. If you see spam, please report it to helen@ourautismvillage.com.

  4. 4.

Use clear language. Avoid sarcasm or complex jargon to keep communication accessible.

  5. 5.

Ask before sharing. If you want to share someone else’s story or resource, please make sure you have permission first.

  6. 6.

Take breaks — Forums can be overwhelming — post only when you feel ready.

Please remember this forum is about helping people find their village, not about judgment. You are welcome exactly as you are.
